Placencia Peninsula

One of the most popular sites, it is said to be a bit of a strenuous hike to reach. Once there, it is worth it. This Mayan site was the main trading spot of the time. The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is another option to get up close to the Belize jungle. They have twelve miles of nature trails that run across the 150-square-mile sanctuary.
