Zermatt, Switzerland
The topic of skiing can’t be mentioned without Switzerland. Zermatt is one of the more famous places, skiing and for a good reason. Certain slopes are open all year long because of the Zermatt’s glacier and snow machines. Whenever you can sneak away for some fun, it is waiting for you. Bring all levels of skiers to enjoy. There is plenty of sightseeing and to be done on your downtime. The surrounding villages have amazing shops and restaurants to be enjoyed. The resorts and hotels have your comfort in mind. You will feel right at home.
Breckenridge, Colorado
The mountain town of Breckenridge has around 3,000 acres to ski on. Breckenridge has kept its small-town charm, a great atmosphere to be in. A terrific place to take the whole family. Slopes for all levels are available, along with great instructors for beginners. If you have young children, there are walk-up daycares. Have the kids enjoy a day playing while you enjoy the day skiing. Off the slope, explore the town’s mining history at their museums. And enjoy some local restaurants you can only find in Breckenridge, Colorado
Whistle, British Columbia
Seventy-five miles from Vancouver, you will find the ski destination of Whistler. With its 8,100 acres of skiable land. The slopes are open almost half the year, with their average annual snowfall of forty feet. With their thirty-six lifts and runs for every level, you will have plenty to explore. It will take you multiple trips to see all that Whistler has to offer on the slopes and in town. In town, you will find museums, art galleries, and other great activities.
St. Moritz, Switzerland
Being the birthplace of Alpine winter sports should have been our first hint that St. Moritz is a great ski destination. Not one but two Olympic Winter Games have been hosted there along with five Alpine Ski World Championships. When you ski here, you will be skiing the same places that the best skiers in the world have. St. Moritz is also known for enjoying the finer things. Shopping to delicacies, you can get nowhere else. Add St. Moritz to your list of places you must visit.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Do the crowds of resorts deter you? Jackson Hole may be just the place for you. Most don’t think of Wyoming when searching for a place to go skiing. And it hasn’t been one for that long. Logging and ranching have kept Jackson Hole alive. Now there are three resorts to choose from around the Teton Mountains. Jackson Hole Resort being the largest with 2,500 acres of skiable land.
